Small tools, prototypes,
product ideas & experiments.
Some shipped. Some half-built. Some kept around because they still contain a useful thought.
ShopDial
- Recently shipped! Quickly understand unfamiliar product categories by surfacing the trade-offs, and browsing recommendations based on what you care about.
- A product research tool where users enter a broad category, explore the buying dimensions that matter, dial priorities up or down, and get matched product recommendations. I built it in Lovable, using OpenRouter to assign specific AI models to specific parts of the search and data-cleanup process rather than asking one model to do everything.
- The useful bit is not just ranking products. It is helping someone understand what they should care about before they choose.
Journey Weather
- How can you keep track of the weather you will actually experience as you travel from A to B, or move between several places? Instead of juggling separate forecasts, consolidate the conditions into one view and get a smart summary of how the weather will change along the way.
- An iOS app concept, coded up entirely with Codex without writing the code myself. You add a travel schedule, define when you will be in different locations, and get one consolidated view of the conditions you will experience throughout the day. The app also surfaces smart summaries of the important variations between places — whether you should expect a major temperature change, take warmer clothes, pack shorts, or prepare for rain.
Cycling across America
- A self-organised coast-to-coast ride across the United States, from the Oregon coast to Washington DC, with loaded road bikes, tents, campsites, route planning, repairs, and daily progress across wildly different terrain.
- Big missions become survivable when you manage the day in front of you: food, weather, repairs, morale, and enough forward motion to get up and do it again.
This Website
- Can a portfolio site be built and shaped mostly by conversation, with AI handling the repetitive parts of copy, code, and image preparation?
- The site you're reading: a custom portfolio built from scratch rather than another WordPress project, started in Lovable and then developed locally through GitHub and Codex.
- Voice-led building changes the rhythm. Instead of getting stuck formatting images, polishing copy, or second-guessing small edits, I can keep the ideas moving and let the system handle more of the production work.
